What Is Life Coaching?

What Does It Mean To Be A Life Coach?

A life coach is an individual whose sole focus is to see their client thrive in all areas of their life, both physically and mentally. The path of the life coach is to support the individual as not only a client but a friend as well. A life coach can help you identify goals and hindrances by teaching self-awareness practices like meditation and mindfulness. A life coach holds the client accountable which encourages commitment to goals that are challenging to adhere to in order to gain self-efficacy. Especially, a life coach provides encouragement, support, respect, and positive presence in a nonbiased, nonjudgmental, and safe environment.

According to a journal article published in US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health,

One on one coaching improves cognitive and motivational skills and increases performance more than group training or self coaching.

There are many benefits to working with a coach and some Include-

· increased self confidence

· Increased self awareness

· A different perspective on looking at life

· Improved sense of balance in life

· Improved goal achievement

· Increased happiness

· Discovering what you love to do best

· Eliminating negative thinking

These are just some of the improvements seen in individuals working with coaches in a one on one exchange.

Tell me, have you worked with a coach before or have you tried other methods for effecting change and increasing happiness? I’d love to hear your thoughts, and I’m here to help. Blessings
